SPORTS AND GAMES REGULATION OFFICE

OUR VISION

A Municipal Games and Regulations Office with a strong, intensified and unified sport for all program which will enhance the talent of athletes, instill sportsmanship and attain high-level recognition and prestige thru excellence in sports.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Municipal Sports and Games Regulations Office shall serve as the major advocatefor the development of Municipal Sports by helping shape regulations, policies and setting priorities through the following:

   -Coordinating and implementing a MUNICIPAL SPORTS FOR ALL program.
   -Creating equitable opportunities or participation in sports by all sectors
   -Providing assistance to stakeholders and partners.
   -Supporting the special talented for high-level sports competitions
   -Promoting the development of those physical qualities and moral values which are the basis of sports.
   -Assist and/or represent the Municipal Mayor in the performance, support and implementations of all programs of the municipality with regards to sports enhancement program.

OBJECTIVES

In view of the forgoing guiding principles, vision and mission statement Binangonan Sports and Games Regulations Office will pursue basic objectives:

   -Increased participation in sports by Binangonan constituents.
   -Excellence in sports performance by Binangonan constituents.
   -Instill moral values/discipline through higher-level trainings.

The BINANGONAN SPORTS AD GAMES REGULATIONS OFFICE shall be the policy-making and coordinating body of all amateur sports development programs in the municipality. Provided that in the case of the School Sports Development Program, the Non-Government Sports Associations, the same shall be formulated by DECS and Respective NGO’s with assistance of the office within the framework of the Municipal Sports and Games Regulations Development Program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are the duties and responsibilities of the MUNICIPAL SPORTS AND GAMES REGULATIONS OFFICE subject to the approval and recommendation of the HON. MUNICIPAL MAYOR CECILIO “ Boyet” M. YNARES

a. Plan, implement and oversee an integrated amateur sports promotion and development program of the Municipality of Binangonan (Forty (40) Barangays).

b. Establish and maintain linkages with Provincial, Regional, National and Private Sports Associations whose main objective is sports.

c. Establish, develop and maintain fully-equipped sports facilities and centers in the municipality.

d. Plan and formulate programs and review or evaluate, from time to time the organizational set-up, projects and programs of this office.

e. Provide such incentives, recognitions, and awards to deserving associations, athletes, referees, game officials, coaches, trainers and other persons permissible under the rules of amateurism.

f. Recommend and propose the office of the Municipal Mayor and Municipal Budget Office, to incorporate in their respective regular budgets, specific allocation for the municipal sports promotions and development.

g. Conduct regular basics seminars and applied research on sports development within the municipality.

h. Attend seminars and sports related functions activities upon the invitations of Recognized Sports Associations, The National Sports Commission and the Department of Education Culture and Sports.

i. Conduct regular sports competition for the promotion of the respective sports.

j. Provide assistance to all Recognized Sports Associations in the Municipality.

k. Extend financial support and professional assistance to all Recognized Sports Associations.

l. Coordinate with all the Public and Private School Officials in the municipality to maintain a strong and intensified Sports Development Program.

m. Conduct a regular sports competition for the handicapped and out of school youth.

n. To develop authority for the performance of any function to officers and employees under its direction

o. To sign and enter into contracts pertaining to Sports Activities and other related function.

p. To regulate acquisition, procurement, distribution and useof sportswear, equipment, instrument, tools and other sports necessities necessary and required for training of municipal pool of athletes.

q. To accept donations, gifts requests and grants for the purposes of the office.

r. Maintain and uphold the Vision, Mission and Principles of this office pursuant to all guiding principles and programs to the Philippine Sports Commission and REPUBLIC ACT #7160 under LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE OF 1991 (Provisions on Sports) and REPUBLICACT #6847
