Health and Nutrition The only hospital in the municipality is a Government-owned Municipal Hospital. The other nearest government hospital are in the towns of Angono and Morong. Although most barangays have health centers, there are not enough government health personnel to attend to the needs of residents. There are 50 private medical practitioners with their respective clinics that are mostly based in the mainland. There is a health facility in Barangay Gulod , Talim Island which served as a extension of the Municipal Hospital. Education and Human Resource Development There are 40 elementary and six secondary schools, public and private, located in the different barangays in the municipality. Total enrollment in elementary schools rose from 22,492 in SY 1990-98. Teacher-Student and Room-Student ratios are comparatively better than in other municipality with 1:30 and 1:38, respectively Housing and Shelter The total housing unit in Binangonan as of 1995 is 24,263 while the number of households is 24,,421. The difference of 158 represents the housing needs in that base year. The average number of occupants per housing units is 5.2. There are 23,098 units inhabited by only one households; 455 with two households, while the rest with three or more. Majority of houses are semi-concrete and concrete. There are 44 existing housing subdivisions while two more are being completed as of 1999. Residential subdivisions are located in upland barangays of Tayuman, Tagpos, Pagasa, Bilibiran, Darangan, Pantok as well as in Mambog, Mahabang Parang, Calumpang, Batingan and Lunsad. Subdivisions cater to the middle and lower income families except for high class Village East that offers an 18-hole golf course, tennis court, swimming pools and theme park as modertn amenities. |
